Still keeping up with my daily commits. I have only missed two days in the past two weeks, so I feel like the habit is starting to take hold and I feel pretty shitty if I miss a day. I'm really hoping to keep doing a daily commit beyond this 30 day challenge. It feels great to be learning something new each day and progressing my coding knowledge.
I have been feeling a little bored with sticking with just the Objective C tutorials that I've been doing, and I decided to start a swift tutorial I found online, just to drop in a little flavor into it, so I don't get stale with my limited time to code today. I finished up the first swift tutorial on, www.raywenderlich.com and it was a pretty great little dip of the toe into swift and xcode. Well that's after I fought and battled with updating my OS to el capitan so that I could then download the latest xcode.
I've since moved on to the 5ht edition of "iOS Programing The Big Nerd Ranch Guide." I ordered it from amazon, and it just came in the mail recently. Since I've now moved through the first little intro of the book, they have you make a very simple quiz application that introduces you to the MVC framework used in iOS development. That don't get into much of the down and dirty of what the code is doing that you are writing, but the concepts look to be fairly similar to anything else that I've done. I'm ready to get deeper into this!
Things have been a bit crazy at work the past couple weeks, so I'm really hoping that a break in the tide will come soon and I can start to dedicate more time to this every night, other than the half hour or so I have been so far. If not, I know things will start to slow down a little as summer draws to a close.
